Dick started playing the bass in his first band, mainly inspired by The Beatles. Shortly after he discovered the guitar to be more diverse and he moved towards playing symphonic rock. He played with various bands, a.o. “Dawn” and the German band “Mallet”. Also the guitar turned out to be not satisfactory and composing, arranging and producing became more prominent. In this period, he started studying Music Technology at the Artschool of Utrecht. During his study, he remained active as practicing musician, for example as vocalist in “Wishing Well” (heavy fun-rock), guitar player in “Vandattum” (rock covers band) and “SixAppeal" (dance classics).
Dick has worked for 10 years as composer / producer. He started DK-Music in 1998 and he owns his own recording studio. He composes and produces leaders for TV shows, series, commercials and film. Not just for the Netherlands market, but also for the rest of Europe, Japan and the USA. On his track record appear: MTV (NL), TMF (NL/B), Heineken (NL/Japan), Skoda (EU/World), Volkswagen (NL/D), Mercedes (D/World), Brownies (USA), Suzuki (USA), Cup-a-Soup (NL), an number of TV programs, such as: Hart van Nederland, Missie Warmoesstraat, Doei and the Dutch movie “Afblijven”. Along side he is also producer of the Netherlands based bands Behave, Daisyvain and of course Graze.
Dick has been asked by Graze to fill in the second guitars at the larger live performances. Starting mid 2007, however, Dick can always be found on stage with Graze in the Netherlands, the US, the UK...
